All My Love

Band: Led Zeppelin
Album: Mothership
Genre: Rock

Now, there is no band in the world that I will ever love more than these guys. Anytime somebody asks me what my favorite band is, Led Zeppelin is the first group to constantly pop into my mind. I grew up with Zeppelin, how could I love another band any more than I do this one? The answer is, it is absolutely impossible for me to do so. Zeppelin has been a part of my life since I was extremely young; they're the band that I have some of my fondest memories listening to growing up and have been a constant in my life. Anytime a Zeppelin song comes on, I'm instantly jamming out and attempting to sing along to every word that Robert Plant says (although I can't understand him all too often).
Robert Plant is the lead singer of Led Zeppelin and, although he's older now, has curated some of the best vocals for a band. He is from the middle of England and is now 68 years old. When Led Zeppelin was still a touring rock band, Plant was in his mid-twenties and was spry enough to jump around stage engaging with crowds. Although the band is no longer together, Plant is still regarded as one of the best vocalists in rock history.

Within the band, there are three other members. Jimmy Page is the lead guitarist and has made some of my favorite beats to listen to whenever I'm bored. In a song like "Achilles Last Stand", where it's mostly guitaring, his talent is amplified and displayed to a crowd. John Bonham was the drummer and allowed the band to stay on beat throughout any song. His legacy lives on through his son Jason Bonham who has played reunion gigs in place of his father. John Paul Jones is the bassist and helped to arrange music for the band. Overall, the band created incredible music together and is still played to this day.

My favorite album from Led Zeppelin has and always will be Mothership. So many fantastic songs that became popular hits were published on this album. Mothership is a compilation album created in 2007 featuring hits such as "Ramble On", "Black Dog", and "Stairway to Heaven". I'm able to listen to the album whenever I'm bored and put on any song I'm in the mood for.

The best song off of the album, in my opinion, is "All My Love". It's a song about Robert Plant's child dying from a stomach infection in 1977 at five years old and that all of his love belongs to his son who is no longer here. Another song from the album that I really love is "Achilles Last Stand". It's always been my favorite Zeppelin song; Robert Plant's vocals combined with Jimmy Page's legendary guitaring, I've never heard a song better. When someone asks me what my favorite song of all time is, "Achilles Last Stand" is the first song to come to mind.

Zeppelin has and always will be my favorite band, none compare in my eyes. There will never be a band with so many songs that are so relatable and prevalent in my life.

Smile Like You Mean It

Band: The Killers
Album: Hot Fuss
Genre: Indie Rock

I started thinking about this band a lot this week. I don't know why, honestly. It could be because of the fact that my friend and I had gone to a party and danced our hearts out to a song by them or maybe I was just in the mood for their sound. It's about time I do a post on this group either way since they've become pretty influential on modern day rock music and are an incredible band. The Killers is a band that formed in 2001 and came out with their debut album Hot Fuss in 2004. It topped the charts all around the world and is still to this day their best selling album.
Image from celebritywc
Brandon Flowers is the frontman of the group and he is from one of the larger cities in Nevada. He's an extremely charismatic frontman that charms any audience he steps in front of; when he gets on stage the audience roars in excitement and he feeds off of the energy they bring. He jumps around on stage to really rope the audience into his performance which is something every great frontman has to have the talent and ability to do. Brandon also plays bass guitar whenever necessary for the band, so he is multitalented as well!

There are three other members that make up this wonderful band! Dave Keuning is the lead guitarist and backing vocals, Ronnie Vannucci, Jr. is the drummer, and Mark Stoermer is the bass guitarist who also does rhythm guitar when it is needed. Now I'm going to be honest here, I really don't know all too much about the members of this band. What I do know about this band though is that they make some incredible music and that's really what I'm here for.
I remember the first time I heard a song by this band; I was much younger and didn't really care to give it a good listen at the time. The first song I heard was the ever popular "Mr. Brightside". If you don't know this song, where have you been? This is probably the band's most well known song and, honestly, one of their most fun to listen to. I get so excited whenever it comes on, I jam out to it whenever it comes on.

Overall, Hot Fuss is such a phenomenal album. Giving it a chance allowed me to find more music from this band which was one of the best things that could have happened since they are one of my absolute favorites to this day. Hot Fuss is still my favorite album by the band to this day and still holds my favorite songs by the group, as well! The two best songs off of the album, in my humble opinion, are "Believe Me Natalie" and "Smile Like You Mean It".

"Believe Me Natalie" is a song I will always scream about whenever it comes on; it is about a girl with AIDS that only has one more chance to have the best night of her life. Although the song sounds so upbeat, the lyrics themselves are very downtrodden and depressing. Honestly, give it a listen. The song is so good and powerful, Brandon's vocals on this song kill me. "Smile Like You Mean It" is accepting the choices that one's made in life with a smile on one's face. The song just makes me happy, honestly I love it.

The Killers are such a great band and will always be the best album that they have ever made. Let me know what you think of this band! If you've ever heard of them or don't know much of anything about them!

Miracle Aligner

Band: The Last Shadow Puppets
Album: Everything You've Come to Expect
Genre: Psychedelic pop

Lazy afternoon strolls and going home with trouble is always caused whenever Miles Kane and Alex Turner get together to make an album. It took eight years for the duo to come out with a new album and it was met with immediate success. The group is much bigger in England than it is in the United States and had gone to number one in England, making it that every album Alex Turner has gone to number one in England. Being in the Arctic Monkeys has allowed him to become a known name and has given the chance for The Last Shadow Puppets to become a well known band outside of England.
Image from thelastshadowpuppets
Alex Turner and Miles Kane are both equal within the group. They work together to write songs and each have a talent for being in the spotlight. As written in a previous blog post, Alex Turner is from Sheffield and is known for being the frontman of the Arctic Monkeys. Alex seems to more outlandish when he is out on stage with Miles since he has the ability to interact with one of his best friends on stage and genuinely be himself.

Miles Kane is less known than Alex, but had been in a band before The Last Shadow Puppets called The Rascals. He also has a successful solo career in England that did not carry over to the States, but is still an incredible artists non the less. Miles is from a small area by Liverpool, England and his music has a more grunge rock sound to his solo music than that of what he's done in The Last Shadow Puppets.

The jokes the two make during interviews and on stage constantly capture the attention of their fans and always make them want more. The more they're together, the more they tend to make each other laugh and end up making others laugh. I never tire of seeing the two of them interact!
Image from mygoldenmove
When I first listened to this album, it had not been everything I had come to expect. Instead, it had exceeded my expectations tenfold and really displayed the musical talent Miles Kane and Alex Turner. The album illustrates how much the duo has grown since their debut album in 2008 and really shows off their new artistic talents to their audience.

Everything That You've Come to Expect is an album that everyone should sit down and experience all the way though. From Miles Kane screaming on Bad Habits to Alex Turner serenading his girlfriend on Sweet Dreams, TN, there is a range of unique songs and styles on the album. My absolute favorite song on the album is The Dream Synopsis. It is all Alex Turner singing about an extremely detailed dream he had that consists of him and Miles with a girl he had met when he was younger. The song has a very nostalgic and calming feel to it that I love listening to whenever I want to kick back and relax.

If you've never heard of TLSP, you should definitely check them out! I love this band so much, they're one of the best to come about! Let me know what you think of them below!

Out of the Black

Band: Royal Blood
Album: Royal Blood
Genre: Rock

So, I went back and forth for a while on who I wanted to write about this week. Did I want to do a band that's wildly known, or one that's more under the radar that everyone should know. I decided to go with the latter this time around. This band of two is definitely one of the most incredible rock bands to spring up within the last five years and has a charm to them like no other. Royal Blood consists of only a bass guitarists and a drummer, yet they still manage to sound like a band with a complete set of instruments! It's actually crazy to me, their music is so impressive.
Image from Independent
Now I'll be honest with you, I found this band through Howard Stern. My dad sent me a link to the interview with them saying I'd love the music and, low behold, I did! Even Howard, who is such a big critic, was blown away by their sound. I wish that he could've had them on his show sooner than summer of 2015 because I feel like the two years of me not knowing about them was two years that I sorely missed out on. Even when Dave Grohl had found out about them he called them directly and asked them to open for the Foo Fighters on tour. I wish I didn't miss that concert at Citi Field.

Mike Kerr is the bassist and vocalist for the band and he is, honestly, so damn talented. When he plays the bass it sounds like there is more than one guitar going than his. His stage presence is massive, even though he has to concentrate on playing guitar and singing he still manages to rope the crowd into the band's performance. If Mike isn't facing the crowd, he is usually looking towards Ben Thatcher, the drummer of the band. Bass guitarists and drummers work hand and hand together, which is perfect for this pair.

Ben gets a crowd going just as well as Mike, even if he isn't doing leading vocals. During concerts he'll stand up at his drum kit and go absolutely mad while encouraging the crowd to do the same; the dynamic between him and the crowd helps to keep some of the pressure off of Mike as a frontman.
Image from DIY Magazine
Hearing this album is absolute bliss to my little rock 'n' roll heart. It's truly got that grunge sound to it that many "rock" bands now a-days just don't possess; I seriously just love this band all around. This self-titled album is their first and, so far, only album that the band has made (I am dying for another album, trust me). I do recommend that if you like rock music, this is an album that you should definitely give a listen to!

Each song off of Royal Blood has it's own unique style to it, but my favorite has to be Figure It Out. The guitaring on this song is so, so, so good it almost hurts. Mike's style of bass is one of my all time favorites and this song truly showcases his talents on what he can do with four strings. The lyrics also have a very dark meaning behind them; even though there's "nothing better to do" he stays stuck trying to "figure it out".

Better Strangers and Little Monster are two other really awesome songs from this album. I mean, I'd recommend all ten of the songs, but I'll keep it to three so you can get to know the band without being overwhelmed, if you please. Better Strangers is a song about someone in a relationship leaving with no reason to give, just someone walking out without a care. Littler Monster is about someone who isn't perfect, but Mike says he'll love her "no matter what [she] says." They're both very contrasting in what they're about, which is something I love about the band. The songs are all so vastly different in their own ways!

If you've been looking for a new band to listen to, well here you go! They've been extremely popular in their home country of England since 2013, so now it's time for more people in America to know about them! Hope you give them a listen because they deserve it!

Fluorescent Adolescent

Band: Arctic Monkeys
Album: Favourite Worst Nightmare
Genre: Indie/Alternative Rock

If you were there, beware! You can do me a favour and do the bad thing by taking a listen to this incredible Arctic Monkeys album. Favourite Worst Nightmare is an album that was created in 2007 by the British band the Arctic Monkeys. And, yes, before you ask I am meaning to spell favorite and favor that way because it's how it's spelled on the album! Brit's are weird and add a u after the o, but that is beside the point. Favourite Worst Nightmare is my favorite album by AM and is the album that got me into the band!
The band is made up of four men from Sheffield, a city in the northern part of England. They have extremely thick accents and it's sometimes funny to hear them talk in interviews when they interact with one another. They're kind of a quiet bunch, but I enjoy getting to see the interactions they have on stage and the jokes they make with one another.

The lead singer of the band's name is Alex Turner. His style has changed a lot since their first album from his vocal style to the way he dresses. During Favourite Worst Nightmare, he had longer hair and was a lot more shy than he is today. He is definitely a frontman that knows how to entertain and interact with an audience, though. He keeps any crowd interested, even huge crowds when the Monkeys are headlining festivals!
Now, I hate to choose favorites, but... my favorite member of the Arctic Monkeys is definitely Matt Helders. Helders is the drummer of the band and is someone that I can wholeheartedly relate to. He's a photographer; this makes me absolutely love him more than any member in the band. His photos are breathtaking. Whether they be of his wife, child, or any random thing going on in his life, he really knows how to capture a moment. He also got to tour with one of my all time favorite solo artists, Iggy Pop. Post Pop Depression, honestly, skyrocketed to my favorite Iggy Pop record all because of him (and kind of because of Josh Homme too, but that's beside the point).

The last two members of the band are Jamie Cook, the lead guitarist, and Nick O'Malley, the bass guitarist. Jamie is the only guy in the band who doesn't sing back up, but happens to be one of the most outspoken people within the group. Jamie's guitaring also takes influence from some of my favorites like The Smiths and The Strokes, you honestly don't get much better than that. Nick is the quietest member overall, but he is a great bassist and I enjoy watching live videos of him interacting with everybody up on stage.

Now have you ever listened to an album and just had it automatically rope you in? Well, this band has done that to me on multiple occasions. The Arctic Monkeys have definitely made some incredible albums, but Favourite Worst Nightmare is by far the best, in my opinion. Starting with Brianstorm all the way to 505 and even the bonus tracks on the album, I can listen to it on repeat for hours on end without getting tired of it.

From upbeat to calm and somber songs, there's something for everyone on this album. My all time favorite AM song is actually on this album and it is "Do Me a Favour". The song starts off very slow and progressively gets faster to display the stress of a strained relationship. The girl in the song even ends the relationship by telling him to "f*ck off" to which Alex feels is "too kind" of a response to what he's put her through. Ugh, I love that song. Best off the album and best they've ever made to this day.

I definitely also recommend listening to "505",  a slower song about going back to an old lover. "505" includes an extra guitar riff from a one Miles Kane, one of my favorite guitarists from today and the other half of The Last Shadow Puppets. "Fluorescent Adolescent" is another song I'd recommend off of the album, it's a very entertaining song that I love to jam out to whenever it comes on! If you're wondering why the live links, by the way, it's because you need the full experience; they sound brilliant live!

The Arctic Monkeys have been apart of my life for a very long time and not a day goes by where I don't turn their music on. Have you ever listened or heard of this lovely band out of the small city of Sheffield? If so, what are your thoughts on them? If not, will you give them a listen? Let me know!

Come a Little Closer

Band: Cage the Elephant
Album: Melophobia
Genre: Alternative Rock

The term "melophobia" is what is known as the fear of music. Now that's usually the last term that is associated with any kind of music, right? Well, Cage the Elephant wanted to create an album about the fear of being able to produce music in a fashion that would be honest to the bands true emotions. I've been a fan of Cage the Elephant since a friend from back home showed me the song Cigarette Daydreams in her car a few years back; ever since then I've been hooked on their music.
Cage the Elephant is a group of guys from Nashville, Tennessee. You'd assume that since they're from Nashville that they'd make country music of some sort, but that's so far from the case. Their music varies on the alternative spectrum and is constantly leaving me in awe with how many ideas they have.

The lead singer of Cage the Elephant is that man laying on the floor in the photo above; his name is Matt Shultz and he is one of my favorite people. Every lyric he puts in each song is extremely meaningful and he connects with a crowd like no other frontman. He jumps into audiences without a care, crowd walks, and runs back and forth on the stage to get the entire crowd into the bands performance. Along with being able to engage an audience, he is also an incredible singer. His voice is extremely unique and versatile so CTE's songs range from heavy rock to calm indie music.

Brad Shultz is the rhythm guitarist for the band and happens to be Matt's brother, as well! He will also throw himself into the fray of the crowd and play the guitar in the pit; he matches Matt's brand of crazy just well enough. I guess it would make sense that he would be a bit like Matt considering they are brothers after all. Jared Champion, also known as Jchamp, is the drummer of the band. He tends to make a lot of the jokes in the band and is an all around funny guy. The person I know least about is Daniel Tichenor, the bass guitarist.
Melophobia is my second favorite Cage the Elephant album, right behind the newest album the band had put out called Tell Me I'm Pretty, which is really fantastic you should definitely go listen to it! I decided to review Melophobia over Tell Me I'm Pretty, though, because it was the first CTE album that I had ever heard and it's what got me to absolutely love the band. Honestly, Melophobia overall is a piece of art, I recommend that if you've never heard it you should 110% give it a listen!

My favorite song off of this album is definitely "Halo". Matt's vocal range on this song is absolutely incredible and is really beautifully displayed through the verses, bridges, and chorus. The lyrics are another one of my favorite parts of this song; when his ex thinks about their relationship she thinks about the good times and when he thinks about it he can only think about the bad.

"Cigarette Daydreams" will always have a special place in my heart since it was the first song I had ever heard by this lovely band. I love to listen to the song and will belt out the lyrics whenever I hear it.

Take It or Leave It

Band: The Strokes
Album: Is This It
Genre: Indie Rock

Have you ever asked yourself the question "is this it?" in reference to something you've heard? The name of The Strokes debut album asks this very question to its fans. It even seems to be a question to the band themselves, wondering if they would have to stop after the very first album they made. That was not the case for this incredible band since the album had topped the charts all around the world. Reaching number 33 on the Billboard 200 is a pretty phenomenal feat for a band that wasn't all too know in 2001.
The Strokes 2011 from thestrokes
The lead singer of The Strokes is a man from Manhattan, New York named Julian Casablancas. Julian being from New York is really important to me since I am too; him being from there allows me to connect with him on a more personal level even though the two of us have never met. He is extremely soft spoken in interviews and keeps his personal life to himself. That happens to be one of my favorite things about Julian and the entire band. They keep their personal life separate from their life in front of the cameras.

Julian's voice is extremely unique; it has a natural edge to it that bring anyone in. His sound enhances the true rock feel of the album. Some tracks off of the album have a more sultry feel while others have a darker feel all because of his voice.
Image from sarahhvictoria
The rest of the band is made up of four other people as opposed to three, like most bands are. Having five people in The Strokes gives the band a much better sound and quality; this allows Julian to focus on just singing rather than playing rhythm guitar like most frontmen do. Albert Hammond, Jr. plays rhythm guitar, Nikolai Fraiture plays bass, Nick Valensi plays lead guitar, and Fabrizio Moretti brings them all together by playing the drums. Everybody in the band compliments each other perfectly and they have been playing well together for seventeen years.

Is This It is the album that had put The Strokes on the map. The first song I had ever heard from this band was off of this album; the song is called "Someday". It is still one of the band's most popular songs to date, actually! My personal favorite songs off of Is This It are "Barely Legal" and "Take It or Leave it"; I can listen to each of these songs for hours on repeat and not get tired of them at all.

"Barely Legal" is a song where Julian tells a girl who is eighteen to not take shortcuts in life just like he hadn't. He notices the innocence of her being only eighteen and that, even though she is a legal adult, she still has a lot to learn. "Take It or Leave It" is a song where Julian expresses that he has no wish to be apart of a romance with someone that is just going to string him along. Even though this was made seventeen years ago, it's still prevalent because people today are constantly leading others on. He says "just take it, or leave it" indicating that he has no desire to be strung along like other guys might.

The album as a whole is an absolute masterpiece, in my humble opinion. The Strokes are an incredible band that everyone should give a chance to at least once; the sound is so unique compared to any other modern, or classic, rock band!

21st Century

Band: Red Hot Chili Peppers
Album: Stadium Arcadium
Genre: Rock

This band has been running through my thoughts for the past few months, more so than I'd like to admit. I feel like this is a good time to start talking about them because, well, they're starting up a North American tour! The Red Hot Chili Peppers are coming back and I don't think I've ever been more excited for a tour. Although with school and all, who knows if I'll get the opportunity to see them. Being from New York, I've wanted nothing more than to see the Chili Peppers play in MSG, but I guess I'll just have to wait for the next time around.
Image from Rolling Stone

Anyway, this band is one of my favorite bands of all time. The members all work perfectly together to give the best performances to their audiences and albums to their listeners. Anthony Kiedis, the charismatic frontman, never fails to create a thrilling atmosphere that is sure to capture anybody's attention. From his young days of having long hair to now, he still manages to bring an energy to a concert like no other frontman. And, although he is no longer young and is now in his 50s, he still takes his shirt off on stage without a care.

Another man in the band who still takes his shirt off as if he was twenty again is Michael Balzary, or more lovingly known by the band and fans as Flea. He was lovingly given the nickname Flea because he is constantly jumping from place to place. The name stuck since he could never keep still on the stage; he still jumps around on stage even at fifty-three years old!
Image from all-flea

As the bassist, Flea works closely with the phenomenal drummer Chad Smith. Although he hadn't been there since the band started, he had been a strong addition to the band since the late 80s. His ability to create beats and keep the rhythm of the band is something that's kept the Chili Peppers an incredible band for years. The guitarist, Josh Klinghoffer, is the most recent addition to the band. His talents shine on their most recent album The Getaway. The band allows him to show off his talents more than in the first album he recorded on with them in 2011.

Stadium Arcadium was created in 2006 and is the longest runtime for any Chili Peppers album - over two hours. From the ever popular singles on the album - "Dani California", "Hump de Bump", and "Snow (Hey Oh)" - to the one's that are less known - "She's Only 18", "Strip My Mind", and "Make You Feel Better" - there is something for everyone to love. I definitely recommend this album to anybody who would want to get into the Red Hot Chili Peppers since it has twenty-eight songs with so much variety.
Image from anthonykiedisblog

My personal favorite song off of the album is "Slow Cheetah". This song really shows off Kiedis's talents as a vocalist; rather than something extremely upbeat his voice is calmer. The beat of the song is extremely relaxing and takes me away from a stressful situation. I listen to it often just to calm down and remind myself that stressing over the small things shouldn't matter.

Close seconds to "Slow Cheetah" are "She's Only 18" and "21st Century". "She's Only 18" is a very rock heavy song, the guitaring in it is enough to turn heads! The beat combined with Kiedis's words of getting with a girl that is far too young for his age curates a song that is unbeatable. "21st Century" is also a cheerful song that speaks to the fact that, in the modern age, society is falling apart.

Now you know a little more about one of my favorites! Have you ever listened to the Red Hot Chili Peppers? Let me know in the comments what you think about them!

Sway

Band: The Rolling Stones
Album: Sticky Fingers
Genre: Rock

The Rolling Stones are arguably one of the most influential and incredible rock bands from the 60s and 70s. From their first self titled album to their most recent album in 2005, the Rolling Stones have been topping charts all around the world. Their music has had influence on many bands - from Aerosmith to the Black Keys - and has stayed relevant within many people's lives. Even their oldest music is still important and listened to by many in modern day! I know that I still find what they curated from before I was born to be suitable for me now.

Photo from Christopher Dombres on Flickr
Mick Jagger, the lead singer of the Rolling Stones, has been a constant in my life ever since I have been young. His lyrics are always so beautiful, especially those off of Sticky Fingers, my all time favorite Rolling Stones album. I began listening to the Stones through my dad; I grew up listening to most of the classic rock music I do now because of him. I really do love Mick Jagger, I even have a gorgeous piece of art of him hanging in my dorm! I'd post a photo of it onto here, but I don't think it'd be much appreciated considering he is holding the middle finger up in it - sorry about that! I don't necessarily look up to Jagger, I mean he's done some things in life that are a little more than questionable. Did you hear about the whole having another kid thing at 72? I mean to each their own, but c'mon man.

Anyway, back to speaking about the music rather than Jagger's personal life. Sticky Fingers is an album that I constantly come back to; I never get tired of hearing the melodies and lyrics off of the record. Opening the album with the iconic song "Brown Sugar", one of the all time best Rolling Stones songs, leaves a lasting mark that is sure to resonate with any music fan. Keith Richards and Mick Taylor starts the album off with impeccable skill on the guitar that capture an audience within an instant.

My favorite songs off of this album are "Wild Horses" and "B*tch". "Wild Horses" is a song that I can listen to anytime I feel like I need to take a step back from anything that I'm doing and just relax for a bit. It's the song I continually turn to to relieve stress and calm me down from anything terrible going on around me. "B*tch" is a song where Jagger seems to let go of all of his cares and send them to the wind. The brass section in the song is also one of my favorite parts since it adds to the carefree nature of the song!

The Rolling Stones have so many great albums, I am always proud to rep their merchandise to show everyone just how big of a fan of theirs that I am. What are your thoughts and opinions on the Rolling Stones? Do you even like classic rock music? I'd love to hear your opinions, feel free to tell me below!

An Encounter

Band: The 1975
Album: The 1975
Genre: Alternative-pop

So I figured I'd start this blog off with the band that this blog is titled after - The 1975. They're the band I recommend, quite honestly, everyone listen to. Have you ever had that kind of band or artist that you can listen to on repeat without ever getting tired of them? Well, for me that's The 1975. Whether I'm listening to the music while I'm just walking with headphones in or jamming out in my room alone, their music has wormed it's way into my daily routine.

Matty Healy, the brilliant lyricist and vocalist of The 1975, curates gorgeous music that I can listen to for hours on end without getting tired of. He throws his every fiber of his being into every lyric and never holds back on his feelings; his outlook on the world is something I look up to and aspire to grasp, eventually.

The three other members of the band are George Daniel on drums, Ross Macdonald on bass guitar, and Adam Hann on guitar. The band works superbly together and has a dynamic that is rare from newer bands. When on stage they all seem to have something that just clicks and get to enjoy laughing with each other.

I began listening to The 1975 in early 2014 through my best friend showing me the song "Girls". The song is a bubble gum pop song about a young girl attempting to get with a boy that is far too old for her age. When I first heard the song, I was ready to just brush it off and move on to the next song on my friend's playlist until I heard the way Matty had sang the bridge of the song. I knew after hearing that part of the song that I would have to look into the band more and definitely listen to more of their music!

I decided to listen to all sixteen songs off of their debut album in order to get a good read on the band. Each song on the album flows seamlessly into the next and the instrumental songs on the album are a unique touch that most bands or artists don't have to them now a days. Although some songs on the album, like Talk! and Chocolate, are not up to par with others, the album still reads well as a whole!

My favorite song off of the debut album is definitely "Menswear"; the beginning of the song is almost a two minute long instrumental created by the drummer George followed up by lyrics from Matty about going to a wedding he had no desire to be at. The song itself is extremely relaxing, but also has the ability to excite a crowd.

I definitely recommend giving this album a listen if you haven't already, it is a gorgeous piece of work. Their new album is just as beautiful, if not better really. This band truly knows how to curate art in a true form.

I have seen The 1975 live twice and even had the incredible opportunity of meeting one of my all time favorite bands in the popup store they had in the lower east side of Manhattan! They were all so sweet and sincere, it caused me to be thrilled to consider myself a fan of them. Getting to meet them had meant the world to me since they have such a large influence on my life!

(Ross is my favorite!)
I hope you enjoyed reading about The 1975! Do you like this band or even the genre of music they create? Please tell me, I'd love to hear your opinions!
